Da little Dizzo
Well it’s happened. I think I’m officially a reptile person, or at the very least a bearded dragon person.
My wife had a little bearded dragon dude for a number of years. Unfortunately he had some complications and graduated back to the cosmos a few years ago.
It was a while before we considered getting a new friendo and she was a little iffy about it. She was concerned that I wouldn’t get just how much work is involved with a baby dragon. But hey, anything worth doing, is generally awkward until you get the hang of it. Right?
After planning and setting things up for a few months, including getting a pre-pet set of pets in the form of a bin full o' cockroach colony with which to feed the little critter, we’ve now had our little Calcifer aka Callie for about a month.

She’s already twice the size of when we first brought her home and has developed quite the excitable taste for crickets. (Not surprising or out of the ordinary for a dragon but still very funny; the intensity she lunges at them with.) We’re still in the getting used to our new environment stage but she’s much more chill with these weird apes that are always hanging around by now.
Can’t wait to see just how big and jumpy she’ll get. My wife of course has promised that she will be the most spoiled dragon ever. Of which I have no doubt.
Update: The above was something that I had written out in early December of 2023. It's a bunch after that now and Callie has been upgraded to queen of the house and is much bigger now. Here she is doing things she's not supposed to...
